1. Enrol in a summer school programme
There are several benefits to joining a summer school programme. In the U.S., several universities offer summer school programmes that welcome students from all over the world. Students can join fun courses, taught by world-class professors, in several fields of their choice. If you enroll in a summer school course, you can meet people from all over the world, and solidify new friendships. You can also use courses that you’ve taken abroad towards your degree at your home university. In a way, you will find people speaking with different accents, you’ll find a variety of foods, beers, and events; and you’ll also discover different attitudes and values throughout the countries hugely diverse landscape. Before you start (or, perhaps, once you finish) your short summer courses, or complete your volunteer project, take some time to explore the country and find vibrant life all over.
