The European Law and Governance School ELGS ran by EPLO an Int'l Organization is a modern International University  headquartered in Rome, Italy  with a vision to educate a generation of youth in European Law & Governance  thus preparing them to serve their nations in the better understanding of Europe in doing business with Europe & promoting their national interests within the Brussels context. 

History

The inaugural launching of the School took place with the first symbolic meeting of the Board of Trustees at the premises of the European Parliament in the spring of 2013. The further development of the School followed while 2016 marked the initiation of the Schools’ programs. The programs were announced at the Quirinale Palace of Italy in the presence of H.E.

Education

The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a unique design, incomparable curriculum and fresh material that enable students a high degree of personalization, flexibility and interdisciplinarity. Students can choose from: a track of studies that offers a pan-European perspective of legal studies, or a track that focuses on European governance studies, or can select interdisciplinary degrees that combine both approaches.

Research

The range of optional modules and opportunities for student mobility and internships supports a high degree of personalization of studies, enabling students to tailor-make their educational experiences. In accordance with recent trends in higher education, special attention is given to the development of transversal skills and research methodology.

Career

  • The legal track of the ELGS Undergraduate studies aim to shape the European lawyer of the new era, focusing on the European perspective of the legal profession, while highlighting the common legal traditions of European states and the principles that underpin the discipline on a global scale.

  • The ELGS welcomes students from other Universities, staff exchange and  institutional collaborations.
  • Our office is made up of a diverse team of administrators, academics, students from all around the world, who work hard to make mobility a rewarding experience for incoming and outgoing students of the institution.

Housing services

The ELGS offers accommodation, and transfer packages for international or non-commuting participants. The EPLO Guesthouse, located at the EPLO in Sounion (Legraina area), is comprised of a capacity to accomodate 40 students in bedrooms with bathroom, a common usage fully equipped kitchen and open-air sports courts and gardens all facing the Aegean sea.

Library services

With over 35,000 volumes on Public Law and the related fields of international, comparative and EU law, as well as Human Rights, the Academy’s European Public Law Library is one of the largest specialized academic law libraries in Europe. Its corpora on national law covers over 50 countries worldwide.

Medical services

In order to have access to necessary health care, tourists from member states of the European Union (EU) wishing to visit Greece must be holders of the European Health Card (EHIC) or any other legal Community document issued by their competent social security agency

Campus life

The Campus is located at the seaside, only steps away from the Aegean Sea with an outdoor open theater and a garden of 30.000 square meters. It is only 4 km away from the ancient Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion.

Student clubs

A range of optional extra-curricular activities for the body and mind, providing you with the opportunity to explore the Greek nature and culture, are made available through our Student Affairs Department..
