History

  • Under the National School Establishment Law, Hiroshima University was established on May 31, 1949. After World War II, the school system in Japan was entirely reformed and each of the institutions of higher education under the pre-war system was reorganized.

Education

Hiroshima University is an integrated university with 12 undergraduate and 4 graduate departments and research divisions. Leading the world with top-class research and educating talented and innovative individuals, the university strives to contribute to the development of both Japanese and international society.

The Organization for Research Promotion comprehensively manages Hiroshima University's research activities in order to ensure its further development as a research university. For this purpose, the organization designates talented researchers and remarkable research topics and provides them with intensive support as part of its approach to creating unique research centers at the university. Additionally, the organization aims to develop a state-of-the-art research environment where researchers can focus on their research activities.
