Oxbridge Future Leaders

Oxbridge Future Leaders is an exceptional summer school for students passionate about the social sciences and humanities. Set in the historic surroundings of the city of Oxford, where scholars have walked for hundreds of years, our summer programme in leadership and academic development will fully immerse you in the traditions of academic excellence.

History

Oxbridge Future Leaders was founded in 2015 to provide talented young people from across the world with the leadership skills they need to succeed in life. Our mission is to empower young people to develop their intellectual, social and leadership skills across our unique courses, all based in the historic city of Oxford.

Education

We offer two hours of classes with your tutor, an hour of private tuition, and two hours of Minor Subject classes each week. Added to this is our Leadership lectures and workshops, equipping you with the tools you need to succeed in life. All our tutors are experts in their field, and many have had experience in government or business. The structure of our courses, with its mixture of lectures, classes and one-on-one private teaching, will give you an opportunity to learn directly from their expertise.Your academic confidence will be deepened by debating with your peers in classes, experiencing other subjects through the Minor Subjects, and developing your public speaking skills in the Leadership lectures.

Career

Our alumni have gone on to a number of impressive activities, and include medical practitioners, political activists, and social justice campaigners.

Our Leadership Lectures aim to equip you with the tools to succeed in whatever you choose to do in life. As part of these interactive workshops, you will learn to build your confidence, public speaking skills, and hear the experiences of experts in leadership. 2016’s Leadership Lecture courses included a talk from a world-renowned human rights lawyer, who has defended, amongst others, Silvio Berlusconi (former Prime Minister of Italy), a polar explorer, and the Chief of Staff of the UN Mission to Sierra Leone. We have speakers of a similar calibre planned for 2017.

The centre of town is a 10 minute walk down the wide boulevard of St Giles, past the Eagle & Child pub, famous haunt of JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis.

The city centre is a beautiful mix of narrow lanes, wide streets, and historical sites on every corner. It contains all the shops that you will require - from pharmacies to supermarkets.

Also within easy walking distance is Jericho, an attractive area of artisan dwellings, shops, and restaurants which backs onto the Oxford canal and Isis Lock.
