History

TalTech was established on 17 September, 1918, when the Estonian Engineering Society uniting local technology intellectuals began to provide special engineering courses in order to cover the need for locally trained engineering specialists. Only in a year the school became the private Tallinn College of Engineering, which in 1920 was declared a state institution.

Education

TalTech offers 4 Bachelor's and 12 Master's programmes in English in the fields of IT, technology, business, governance, engineering and maritime sciences. All programmes are internationally recognized and provide high-quality education by combining in-depth study and creative labs. Thus, you can get the best hands-on experience for your education and career.

Studies for the EU/EEA citizens are tuition free (except for the School of Business and Governance). In addition, a number of scholarships are available.

Research

At TalTech, we develop real things, such as self-driving cars or the TTÜ100 satellite. We offer an opportunity to study in a modern digital campus where many of the most recent technologies are tested and implemented on the daily basis.

TalTech researchers are currently involved in many research projects within the university and in joint projects with other universities across all the fields and disciplines presented at the university.

Career

In order to help you to decide for a suitable career path at TalTech we provide a free career counseling for TalTech current and prospective students, and recent graduates. In addition, we give an advice on questions concerning school system, academic career, child care, housing and living in Estonia for our students and employees. We are looking forward to meeting you!
