The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is the premier biomedical research institution in South Carolina, with a record of more than $284 million in research funding in Fiscal Year 2019. This funding reflects the quality of the research and discovery at MUSC, a direct result of recruiting top scientists with a strategic focus to serve the needs of the people of South Carolina.

After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

Library services
This facility is centrally located on the Horseshoe for the convenience of students, faculty, and staff. Situated on the second through the fourth floors of the building, the library contains collections and information systems to support curriculum, research, and the patient care goals of the institution.
