History
Dr. Walter W. Leibrecht was born on September 3rd, 1927 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He enrolled in 1945 at the university of Erlangen-Nuremberg and later continued at the University of Heidelberg.
During his studies he was selected as one of the first German students for a study abroad term after the war, at first at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and later at the University of Chicago.
Career
On each campus, faculty advisors and career counselors advise students on career planning issues and job opportunities. Individual campuses establish a variety of programs from Career Days with speakers on various areas of interest, to workshops on resume writing, and job interviewing techniques.
Our Campus career counselor are knowledgeable about the legal requirements of the host country with regard to employment. She assists qualified SIU students with information concerning internships and forming the links between academic and business life.

Limited housing is available in a building next to our campus. Reservations for these dorms with single or double rooms can be requested during the admissions process according to the availability.
Library services
Library resources play an important role at Schiller and the library at the Heidelberg campus provides a comfortable ambience and all the facillities the students and faculty need for their study and research purposes.
acicsSchiller International University (SIU) has received accreditation by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) since 1983. SIU is accredited by ACICS to award Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s Degrees.
