About the course
This Cognitive Rehabilitation short course at La Trobe University will provide you with valuable skills for delivering evidence-based cognitive rehabilitation to adults with brain injury and illness.
Designed for practising psychologists and other clinicians looking to upskill in this important area, the 5 weekly classes will introduce you to evidence-based approaches to cognitive rehabilitation for people with brain injury and illness.
Programme Structure
In this course you’ll learn:- current evidence and clinical guidelines for cognitive rehabilitation
- practical techniques for effective rehabilitation of memory, attention, processing speed and executive functions
- competencies in both group and individual interventions
- transdiagnostic processes such as person-centred practice, setting meaningful goals, optimising homework completion, and ensuring feasibility of strategies, generalisability and maintenance
- ways to effectively measure intervention outcomes
