About the course
The practical aspects of the Introduction to Sustainable Design Approaches in Fashion course at the University of the Arts London (UAL) will focus on techniques to repurpose and up-cycle fabrics, such as patchwork, fabric manipulation, pattern cutting and embellishment.
Throughout the course, there will be a highlight on the importance that Sustainability is a huge interconnected issue that encompasses a range of social, environmental and political issues.
You will come away from this course with methods to reduce your own environmental impact, having produce an upcycled garment and samples, and along with notes on other techniques to use, youll have learned about the wider context of sustainability.
