Key Facts:
- Participants of the PMI PMP Certification Preparatory course provided by ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences prepare for all aspects of the PMI PMP certification exam while further developing their project management skills. A variety of case studies and impulses accompany exercises that are worked on in small groups and then evaluated together.
- Further exam contents are learned in self-study. For this purpose, a playbook is provided at the end of each session.
In addition to tutorials and lectures, the participants work independently with the teaching materials included in the course:
- PMBOK Guide including the Agile Practice Guide
- Online X-AM test simulator with over 1500 questions
- Access to the PMI CHOICE platform
- Course presentation slides: Slide decks used in class as well as the original slide decks as provided by PMI
- Student Manual: An electronic version of the materials for your course, which can be viewed and annotated from a variety of platforms including computers and iPad/iOS, Android, and Windows tablets.
- Project Manager Checklist: Step-by-step procedures and reference material for concepts covered in class that you can use as a reference during and after class.
- Spotlight Videos: Short (3-6 minutes) videos that enhance and extend the classroom learning experience.
- Self-Knowledge Check: A set of multiple choice and true/false questions to help you self-assess your pre- and post-mastery of the course content.
- Post-Class Survey: A required survey for students to take at the end of class.

General requirements
The course is designed for experienced project managers. In order to register for the certification exam after completing the course, the following requirements apply:
University graduate (BSc, MSc):
- 4,500 hours of project management experience over a period of at least 36 months (no overlaps) and
- A minimum of 35 contact hours of project management training from a course
- 7,500 hours of project management experience over a period of at least 70 months (no overlaps) and
- A minimum of 35 contact hours of project management training from a course
Your experience has to cover all project phases (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and project close) and has to have been acquired over the last eight years.
