What you will learn
The aim and prime objective of the High Voltage Safety Operating Procedures workshop offered by IDC Technologies is to define minimum requirements for safe working on high voltage electrical switchgear by employees with special reference to:
- dangers of electricity
- duties and responsibilities of appointed operators and responsible persons
- alive, dead and isolated safety testing
- warning notices
- minimum earthing requirements
- the work permit system for safety operating
- live chambers
- prohibited areas
- issuing and keeping of keys
You will learn:
- Approved ways of operating and earthing high voltage equipment to ensure safety of personnel at all times
- The difference between safe and unsafe working conditions
- The requirements for a responsible person or appointed operator
- The documentation required for Occupational Safety and Health Acts
- Live Chamber and limited access procedures
