About

This pre-academic language program provides you with the tools to take your Hebrew to the next level. TAKA is ideal for students looking to start studying in Hebrew or commence an academic career at an Israeli academic institution.

Overview

This intensive Hebrew program is run in collaboration with the Ministry of Absorption, the program, otherwise known as TAKA, is ideal for those who wish to improve their academic and language skills.

You’ll need a high school diploma or higher to join the program, and be looking to pursue a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, or a PhD in Hebrew at an Israeli college or university.

Expect some intensive coursework focusing on three core components: Intensive Hebrew studies, English studies, personal academic consultation for choosing a study track, and a selection of Hebrew specializations such as Academic Writing, International Relations, Israeli Society, and more. You’ll also be  prepared for the Yael Test for Hebrew proficiency, and Amir Test for English proficiency required by higher academic institutions in Israel.

- Launch your Hebrew academic career the right way, with full preparation for future studying at Israeli academic institutions

- Stimulate your academic mind by learning academic Hebrew at one of the world’s leading universities, with expert tutors and plenty of opportunities to practice your newly-acquired skills.

Programme Structure

  • Hebrew instruction taught by TAU International’s Hebrew teachers according to the participant’s level. A typical schedule is Sunday to Thursday from morning to early afternoon
  • Hebrew specializations are also offered for further exposure to higher education instruction in Hebrew and may include topics such as Academic Writing, Israeli Society, and Israeli Jewish culture. A list of finalized courses will be provided upon the program start.
  • English instruction taught by TAU’s English Department. Students will study for a minimum of 60 hours of English depending on their assessed level.

TAKA participants also receive preparation for the Yael Test for Hebrew proficiency and the Amir Test for English proficiency required by higher academic institutions in Israel.

Participants may be eligible for academic advising throughout the program.
