Led by award-winning videographer Diego Rivera-Kohn, the Introduction to Drone Videography course offered by Concordia University Montréal learn about the laws that regulate drone flight in Canada and the basic operation of the more common consumer drones.

What you will study

The Introduction to Drone Videography course offered by Concordia University Montréal will help you learn foundational themes like shot height, speed, distance and gimbal, and the narrative potential they have. Basic camera techniques will focus on light, composition, movement, depth, and suspense. And finally, you’ll have the chance to apply all that knowledge and skill as you learn how to film landscapes, architecture, and people.

  • Understand safety, ethical and legal aspects of operating drones;
  • Safely operate drones (under 249 grams) for audiovisual content acquisition;
  • Understand the role of storytelling in drone videography;
