• This course will cov­er envi­ron­men­tal, social and gov­er­nance (ESG) prin­ci­ples and how they apply to social pro­cure­ment. Focus­ing on emerg­ing prac­tices, pur­chasers will learn how to make busi­ness deci­sions based on a broad­er set of val­ues, includ­ing the var­i­ous fac­tors of ESG, the cir­cu­lar econ­o­my, best prac­tices in sup­ply chain strate­gies, KPI and the impact on prof­itabil­i­ty. These prac­tices tie into the UN Sus­tain­able Devel­op­ment Goals.
• This course is intend­ed for pub­lic and pri­vate sec­tor entry to senior-lev­el buy­ers and pri­vate sec­tor man­age­ment at all lev­els. Par­tic­i­pants will learn the prin­ci­ples and pur­pose of ESG and SP in busi­ness, focus­ing on sourc­ing strate­gies. This micro-cre­den­tial will pre­pare pro­fes­sion­als to work in var­i­ous indus­tries and play an inte­gral part in Alberta’s ESG strat­e­gy. Sam­ple job titles include Sus­tain­able Sourc­ing Man­ag­er, Senior Spe­cial­ist, Social Pro­cure­ment, and ESG Cus­tomer Strategist.
