Programme Structure
Content- This course makes extensive use of SPSS and familiarity with descriptive statistics is assumed. We would expect attendees to have met statistical ideas at some point in their past and to have ideally completed the course Introduction to SPSS.
- This one-day course discusses the underpinning logical arguments for statistical inference and the terminology used. The logic is explained in the context of commonly used tests such as the chi-square test of association, McNemar's test (chi-square for related data), paired samples t-test, independent samples t-test, correlation, the one-way analysis of variance and post hoc tests. The course is (as far as possible) a hands-on course and SPSS is used throughout the day.
