This course will examine the science underpinning the process of climate change and how this might be addressed through adaptation and mitigation measures, based on an understanding of the global carbon cycle.The aim of this course is to provide a detailed introduction to climate science, together with a broad and integrated overview of carbon management approaches. This will include consideration of the global policy context and associated national legislation, together with the principles and practice of emission reduction and carbon management planning, and the relationship between the economy and the environment being mediated through the use of energy production.
