History
On March, 10th, 1981, the government decided to joinboth establishments in the city, giving birth to the Universidad Antofagasta, a professional forging center recognized in the whole country.

It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.
Campus life
UA’s four campuses and offices are located in the northern Chilean city of Antofagasta. Campus Coloso is the main academic campus, the Clinical Areais where the Health Sciences Department is headquartered, the administrative activities take place in the Angamos Campus, and the technical education center is on Antonino Toro street.

The Universidad de Antofagasta has an accreditation of five years by the National Accreditation Comission (CNA Chile), in the areas of Institutional Management, Undergraduate Teaching, Research and Community Relations.
