History
Although established as an independent university in 2005, it began on 1976 as a branch of Cairo University. Finally, the presidential decree N.184 dated 2005 was issued to establish Beni-Suef University.
Education
There are 12 faculties as well as one institute of the Beni Suef University, each with its own internal structure and activities. The heads of Beni Suef faculties are known as dean. The faculties and institutes join as the committee of to discuss policy and to deal with the central administration. The university and its faculties provide social, cultural, and recreational activities for their members and students. Faculties fellow the rules of ministry of higher education for admitting undergraduate.
Research
Bachelor and licence degrees are provided depending on the faculties. Research degrees at the Master's and Ph.D levels are conferred in all subjects studied at graduate level at the university.

Housing services
The faculties of (Engineering, Industrial Education, Physical Education, Nursing, Agriculture, Computer Engineering and Information System, Physiotherapy, Health Science, Dentistry, Postgraduate and Advanced Science, Economic Studies and Political Science) are located in Beni Suef new city, east of the Nile. The campus will be moved to Beni-Suef new city, east of the Nile on an area of 300 acres.

Campus life
The university's main campus is located at the entrance of Beni Suef governorate. It includes the university administration, Open Learning center, university printing house, faculties of (Commerce, Law, Arts, Science)
Sports facilities
The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Egyptian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. BSU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.
Student clubs
Developer Student Clubs are university based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies. Students from all undergraduate or graduate programs with an interest in growing as a developer are welcome.
