History
The University of Baghdad was founded in 1957 as the second largest university in the Middle East and the oldest university in Iraq, including the Faculty of Law (1908), the Faculty of Engineering (1921), the High Teachers’ House (later called the Faculty of Education) in (1923) and the Faculty of Medicine (1921).
Education
it contains 171 fields of specializations. It believes that building Man and developing the society are the basis of having generations who can build the country.

Housing services
This directorate was founded at University of Baghdad in (1960) to facilitate housing for students who are studying at the university’s colleges from across provinces of Iraq in comfort and safety as well as providing a proper atmosphere of (residence, heating, cooling, kitchens, bathrooms, drinking water, media, medical treatment and immediate aid and others). The directorate of dormitories is associated with the university’s presidency and it is supervised directly by the university’s president or the rector’s assistant for administrative affairs.

- Football stadiums: There stadium contains a runway and electronic board held its championships and Official matches and 65 playground estimated area of 120 m length and 90 m width can not exceed supply for 80 yards.
- Handball: Consisting of 7 courts (indoor,outdoor) estimated area of 40 m length/width
- Tennis: Consisting of 6 tennis courts estimated area of 79 feet (23.77 m) length and 27 feet (8.23 m) width nearly.
